Dear Listeners,
In Fall of 2023, I lost my wife and my mother within four months of each other. My wife had ALS and chose Medical Aid in Dying. My mother had Alzheimer's and died of Covid-related complications.
I was and am very fortunate to have a beautiful circle of loving support. The most helpful advice I've gotten along this journey is that there's no right or wrong way to grieve. Trust your own process. Day by day, moment by moment. I have found over time that it does help to know that there are others "in the water" with me, as much as our individual journeys and methods of navigation are so unique.
My wife Wendy and I shared a deep love of music and for close to a year after she died I could barely even listen to music let alone play it. Two years in, I'm emerging to share my new song,"No Right Way". The entire process, from writing to arranging to recording with immensely gifted artists who I am honored to call my friends, has been profoundly transformative.
I'm also collaborating with the wonderful Laura O'Neal on an animated video to go with the song, and working with imagery has been another potent way to explore the landscape of my own grief and healing.
One of my dearest hopes is that this song will be helpful to others on their own journeys.
Please check back here for updates. This site is a work in progress, as am I. For now, please feel free to email me with comments/stories/connections here
